Electrician travels hundreds of miles to repair light switch due to government contract

An electrician made a total journey of hundreds of miles from Newmarket to Birmingham and back to mend an electrical switch. In another case a repairman drove from London to Cheshire to replace bulbs in an office, a total of 175 miles.
This is all due to the Home Office Property Group to outsource their maintenance and repairs contract.

Electricians could be trained on energy saving & zero carbon emissions

I have found that Electricians with approved electrical qualifications could find that their expertise is needed to help with the new zero carbon scheme proposed today, 25th November 2009, by housing minister John Healey.
He moved on to say "We're determined to see a cut in Britain's carbon emissions but to do that we have to design and build to new green standards in the future."
Also the Mayor of London Boris Johnson recently revealed that trials had begun on a scheme that could see eco-friendly upgrades made to thousands of homes in the capital free of charge.
