Jobs for the Girls goes to Westminster

NICEIC took its Jobs for the Girls campaign to Westminster for a parliamentary reception hosted by Chi Onwurah, the Labour MP for Newcastle upon Tyne Central.
As a former electrical engineer Ms Onwurah pledged her support for the campaign, which aims to highlight the exciting opportunities available to females within the electrical industry.
“Just 1% of electro technical apprenticeship starts are women, despite half of all apprenticeships overall and half of our workforce being taken up by women,” commented Chi.

NICEIC launches new online course on EICR’s

Electrical contractors wanting to find out more about the new Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) are being encouraged to take advantage of a new e-learning course from NICEIC.
EICRs were introduced in the recently published First Amendment to the 17th Edition wiring regulations and are set to replace the current Periodic Inspection Reports (PIRs). They will come into force on January 1st 2012.
