This prestigious award by UKAS, the UK's national body responsible for accrediting organisations who approve systems, products and personnel, means that NAPIT is now able to certify electrical installers working to BS7671 under the IET's Electrotechnical Assessment Specification for installation work in all building types.

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the quality of winners in this year’s SELECT Electrotechnical Awards bears testament to a healthy future for the country’s electrical sector.
SELECT is the trade association for the electrotechnical industry in Scotland and holds the awards in conjunction with CABLEtalk Magazine.
Staged on 1 October at Glasgow’s top tier Radisson Blu Hotel, the glittering awards ceremony saw 360 of the industry’s luminaries come together to pay tribute to this year’s winners.

SPG tests with Megger – one million times!

One million PAT tests with Megger PAT4DV testers is the total recently attained by SPG Electrical Technotest, a specialist Scottish contractor that offers electrical testing services throughout the UK.
The company purchased its first PAT4DV tester more than 16 years ago, soon after the model was introduced, and has since added a further three instruments of the same type to its testing armoury. Despite their busy lives, all of the testers are still fully functional and all are being used daily in high-volume testing applications.

Industry Gets Behind Electrical Safety Council’s RCD Campaign

The Electrical Safety Council (ESC), in partnership with a range of leading electrical wholesalers, is launching a ‘toolkit’ for electricians. Designed to help contractors communicate the benefits of RCD protection to customers, the pack is part of the ESC’s flagship Plug into Safety campaign. From the 3rd September thousands of packs containing key information about the importance of RCD protection will be available from leading wholesalers throughout the UK and two million leaflets will be distributed via retail and trade outlets.
